First of all, all of our NIU electric scooters sold in Hong Kong are overseas versions, which are the same as those sold in European countries and the United States. The overseas versions are slightly different from the Mainland versions in terms of materials, batteries, chargers, etc., and the import prices are also different. For example, there is no MQiGT model in the Mainland, where MQiGT is only sold in overseas regions.

 

In addition, in order to meet the strict requirements of the Hong Kong Transport Department for electric vehicles, we have carried out several laboratory tests  in Hong Kong at our own expense without manufacturer’s subsidy. The entire type approval and vehicle verification processes of the Hong Kong Transport Department took us almost a year, resulting an increase in our initial investments.

 

It is also well known that operating costs in Hong Kong are relatively high. Hong Kong always ranks top in the world regarding the cost of land. The rent, labor and warehousing costs in Hong Kong are much higher than those in the Mainland China, and can be even higher than some cities in Europe and America. Therefore, it may be unfair to us if you directly compare the price of the Mainland versions and think that we are making huge profits. We also take this opportunity to let our customers understand the rationality of our NIU’s prices in Hong Kong.
